THE SCRIPTURES INSPIRED

The Word of God, the Bible, is inspired by God and is the infallible, absolute authority in all manners and issues of life. Holy men of God wrote the Word as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

  • 2 Peter 1:21

THE ONE TRUE GOD -THREE PERSONS IN ONE

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM," the Creator of the heavens and the earth. He is the Redeemer of all mankind. He has further revealed Himself as the Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1). Elohim is the plural form of El (God).

Hear, O Israel: The Lord (Yahweh) our God (Elohim) is one (echad) Lord (Yahweh)” (Deuteronomy 6:4). Yahweh means Lord. The Greek word “one” is echad.

So God (Elohim) created man in his own image, in the image of God (Elohim) created he him….” (Genesis 1:27).

And God (Elohim) said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth (Genesis 1:26).

THE DEITY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare:

His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31, 35)

His sinless life (Hebews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22)

His miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:38)

His substitutionary work on the Cross (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21)

His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:4)

His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9, 11; 2:33; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3)

SALVATION

After God made man, Adam and Eve sinned, thereby experiencing physical and spiritual death (Genesis 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12-14).

God provided redemption for all mankind through the shed Blood of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ which is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8). By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God, according to the hope of eternal life (John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8,13; Titus 2:11; 3:5-7; Hebrews 9:14; 1 John 1:7).

WATER BAPTISM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, AND OF THE SON, AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Water baptism is an act of obedience to the Scriptures and identification with Christ. It symbolizes a new life in Christ. It is a command of God to proclaim to man salvation by total immersion. This act of obedience to the Scriptures declares openly that the Christian has died with Christ and is raised with Him to walk in newness of life (Matthew 28:19; Acts 9:18; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12).

THE LORD’S SUPPER

The Lord's Supper is observed by partaking of bread and the fruit of the vine. These elements symbolize the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus commanded His Body of believers to remember His death on the Cross, a memorial of His suffering and death (1 Corinthians 11:26), and a prophecy of His Second Coming (1 Corinthians 11:26).

BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is separate from regeneration. On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was sent to indwell all those who had accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, and this gift of the Holy Spirit is offered to all believers today. Jesus told His disciples that He must go away so the Father could send to them the Comforter (the promised Holy Spirit—Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4, 8).

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a different experience from the salvation experience, but the new birth is essential to receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4; 8:12-17; 10:44-45).

The evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the gift of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 10:46; 11:14-16).

Sanctification

As a new believer in Christ, one is born again, saved, and will have everlasting life. But the new Christian must read the Word of God, pray, assemble together with other believers by attending weekly church services, and allow the Lord to do a spiritual work in their life. This process is called sanctification, which is separation from the worldly desires and lusts which are contrary to the Word of God (Romans 12:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 13:12).

The Scriptures teach a life of "holiness without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14).

The Great Commission

Divine Healing

Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He told his disciples in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”

Divine healing is an integral part of the Gospel. Physical healing from sickness and disease is provided for in the atonement and is available to all who believe (Isaiah 53:4-5; Mathew 8:16,17; James 5:14-16).

The Blessed Hope

The Second Coming of Christ

A time will come when those who have died in Christ and those who are still alive on earth will be raptured up. This word rapture is not in the Bible, but it is used to refer to the Blessed Hope of the Church, that is, when Jesus will come back to get His Church before the Tribulation (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17; Romans 8:23; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52).

The Second Coming of Christ is a different event from the Rapture of the Church. When Jesus returns to get His Church in the Rapture, He will not come back to earth. The Church will be caught up to meet Him in the air, and together Jesus and the Church will ascend into heaven. When Christ returns to the earth in the Second Coming of Christ, He will return with His raptured saints, the Church (Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:27, 30; Revelation 1:7; 19:11-14).

The Millennial Reign of Christ

After the Rapture of the Church while the Great Tribulation is taking place on earth, Jesus will return to the earth in the Second Coming with His saints to rescue Israel and all those who refuse to take the Mark of the Beast. Then all the Saints of God will enter into that time of peace and rest called the Millennial Reign of Christ (Revelation 20:1-6; Ezekiel 37:21-22; Zephaniah 3:19-20; Romans 11:26,27; Isaiah 11:6-9).
